About Noreen Berman

Noreen Berman Noreen Berman, (Reni for short) has always had a love for beauty whether it be art, collectibles, photography, yoga or life in general. A few years ago, after doing photography for so many years, she decided that the art of painting was more intriguing. Specifically, abstract acrylic pours. Mentored by a fellow artist and with a few years of practice and training, her art has morphed into an ever changing array of abstract art using a mixture of mediums and a variety of embellishments. No formal art education involved. Creativity doesn't always need formal education.

Her constant need for something different, mixed in with her love of nature and all things el' natural', you will often find natural elements mixed into her art. Her imagination allows for embellishments from paper to vinyl in what one could only describe as a 'unique' mixed media piece. The color palette is always different, mixing various paints and inks within one piece is something that Reni is fond of. 'Mixed media opens up a whole other world of creativity and gives texture and depth to an art piece'.

'I love abstract art because it leaves SO much to the imagination. This art form, some would say, doesn't take much thought or effort so it has become my obsession in making each piece different somehow. To stand out from an over saturated art market, you have to do something new; think outside the box. That is my goal as an artist. I don't have a 'style'. I love the use of geometry, I love silhouettes, I love straight lines and I love flow. I love acrylic paint while experimenting with Indian inks. It all depends on my mood and the intuitiveness of my color palette choice. While my earlier pieces seemed to all look alike, I strive for distinction within my recent pieces and moving forward, promise much more creativity. I hope you will stick around to see what I come up with next.'
